If you have never been inside a legal cannabis store, it can be hard to know what to expect. Here is how a visit to Mellow Malibu at 647 Welham Rd, Unit 10, Barrie works from start to finish.
Bring valid photo ID
You must be 19 or older to enter. Bring valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s licence, passport or Ontario Photo Card. ID is checked before you shop, and anyone under 19, including children with a parent, cannot come in.
Browsing the store
Products are displayed in sealed, regulated packaging. You can browse by category, such as flower, pre-rolls, edibles and accessories. If you prefer to decide in advance, the full selection is on our online menu.
What our staff can help with
Staff can explain product formats, how to read a label, THC and CBD content and how products are stored. They cannot give medical advice. If it is your first time, it helps to say so; we will keep the explanation straightforward, with no pressure to buy. Background reading: THC vs. CBD and Indica vs. Sativa vs. Hybrid.
Purchase limits
You can buy up to 30 g of dried cannabis, or the equivalent in other formats, in one transaction. Different formats count differently; our Ontario cannabis rules guide explains the conversions.
Paying and loyalty
We accept debit, credit and cash in store. If you join Club Malibu, you earn 1 point per $1 spent. If a licensed store within 5 km has the identical product in stock for less, ask about our price match.
After you leave
Cannabis cannot be consumed in the store or its parking lot, and it cannot be consumed in any vehicle that is being driven or will be driven. Keep products sealed during transport and stored securely at home.
